Aurora Jade is a plains cree singer, pianist, songwriter, visual artist and local indigenous mural artist.

She currently lives and works in Ottawa playing various venues and teaching indigenous arts in the schools.

Her original music is written from an indigenous viewpoint and is a mix of classical piano, jazz, rock and soul.

She has been performing since the age of 9 years old and is a third generation musician.

Brad Lafortune

Brad Lafortune is Métis originally from Sudbury, Ontario. Brad began jigging at a young age and started providing workshops and performances in 2009 upon moving to Ottawa. Brad studied at the University of Ottawa where he received his Bachelor of Science followed by a Master’s of Physiotherapy.

Brad enjoys combining his passion for physical activity and well-being with a deep love and understanding of his culture. Brad believes jigging is an interactive way to physically engage individuals of any age, all the while learning about the intricacies of Métis culture.

Dan Kelly

Dan Kelly is a singer-songwriter/guitarist from Ottawa and a graduate from Algonquin College’s Music Industry Arts program. Known for his traditional fingerpicking with an ambient twist. He’s travelled and performed in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island. Having released two EP’s, with a full length album in the works, Dan continues to strive to create sounds that best convey the intention behind his lyrics, all while creating a sensory experience that transports his listeners into the musical mood he creates.

After winning “Best Guitarist” at the 2020 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Jones started working on his 12th release ‘Everything Now’, with special guest Jimmie Vaughan, and production by Gordie Johnson (Big Sugar).  Jones continues to accelerate his career momentum to new heights, whether it’s sitting in with Buddy Guy, opening for blues-rock icon George Thorogood, or entertaining thrilled audiences around the world.

Laura Leonard

Laura Leonard is of Maliseet descent and is widely known both as a powerful hand drum singer versed in many aboriginal songs as well as being known as a talented fashion designer. She is often invited into schools to share her gift of song with the students as well as conducting workshops on beading and leather work.

Her fashion is in high demand due to her innovative designs that are both of exceptional quality and authenticity.

She utilizes ancient traditional motifs (in particular materials) in conjunction with contemporary infusion.

Laura also holds a degree in Native Studies from Brandon University.

In January of 2021, Nick’s music video “Tread Lightly,” was nominated for an Independent Canadian Music Video Award. Nick has been working on his debut EP which will be released in 2023

Ottawa Celtic Choir 

The Ottawa Celtic Choir is a non-auditioned women’s community choir in the city of Ottawa that sings songs from the seven Celtic nations, as well as from strongly Celtic-influenced areas in Canada (Atlantic provinces, Quebec, and Ontario). The choir participates in various Celtic festivals and competitions and collaborates regularly with other choirs to bring a wide diversity of Celtic music to Ottawa audiences.

Ottawa Gay Men’s Chorus 

The Ottawa Gay Men’s Chorus (CGOGMC) is the second oldest LGBTQ2+ choir in Canada. CGOGMC is unique as it is a non auditioned choir. It produces two concerts every year, one in December and one in the spring. Under the direction of Tim Piper, CGOGMC is preparing a mix of holiday season songs that includes some classics. We are proud to share the holiday spirit with friends and families at the Ottawa Christmas Market.

Siqiniup Qilauta (Sunsdrum)

Siqiniup Qilauta (Sunsdrum) does Inuit cultural performances that include throat singing, drum dancing, games and singing traditional songs. The name of the group, Siqiniup Qilauta roughly translates to The Sun’s Drum. The name was influenced by an Inuit legend they heard about the sun. When the sun has a complete halo around it, it indicates good luck and the halo represents a drum.

The group is located in Ottawa, Ontario, and has travelled nationally and internationally.

They are featured on David Newland’s album, Northbound. Lynda Brown works at Students on Ice, Heidi Langille works at Nvision, both are Royal Canadian Geographic Society Fellows.

Steamy Boots is an acoustic duo from Ottawa Ontario consisting of Scott Reeves and Jayla Kirkey. While a heavily Canadian setlist is standard for Steamy Boots, they span a wide range of genres from 80’s, 90’s, country, classic rock, contemporary, and many new top 40 cuts. One special evening they were playing at Heart & Crown in the market and Brady Tkachuk and Josh Norris of the Ottawa Senators joined them on stage to sing Mr Brightside. Following that night they have been asked to perform at two Ottawa Senators games and will likely return again this year.

Steph starred in the Toronto, National Tour, and appeared in London UK’s West End productions of the Broadway hit, Dear Evan Hansen, where she collaborated with Alex Lacamoire at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville. Most recently, she held a sold out show at Red Bird Live and packed the house at Ottawa’s RBC Bluesfest. An old soul with a powerful gift to share, this songstress will always leave you with a captivating performance. Her debut, self-penned, Factor-funded EP titled, Wildflower, is available now.

The Hallions are a high-energy Celtic rock band from Glengarry County, Ontario. In 2018, they released their debut EP featuring the hit single “Take Me Back” and have since opened for bands like The Real McKenzies, The Mudmen & The Glengarry Bhoys.

Valley Mountain is setting out to bring much needed representation to female fronted acts around Ontario and abroad, playing their unique brand of classic and current country music from both male and female artists. Since their inception, Valley Mountain have been booked around the National Capital Region and Ontario on a variety of stages for fairs, festivals, and at independent venues alike. Their first release, a cover of The Chicks’ song “Cowboy Take Me Away”, climbed to the #2 spot on The Canadian Indie Country Countdown in August of 2020.

Volume 8 is an eclectic folk rock band from Ottawa. The group plays folk and rock favourites and originals exploring a range of styles from Fleetwood Mac to Red Hot Chili Peppers and everything in between.

Yvan Petit
Yvan Petit

Yvan’s career started in Smooth Rock Falls Ontario when he was a very young boy. He was not one to play with trucks or other toys, rather you would see him with a guitar, a microphone, and the coffee table as his “stage”. 

Graduating as a recording engineer, Yvan began playing with many bands around the Ottawa region starting a 25 year career as a guitar player for Johnny Reid, Brad Paisley, The Eagles, Dwight Yoakam, Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, Martina Mcbride, Ricky Skaggs, etc., performing for crowds ranging from 5,000 to 40,000 people. 

In between touring, Yvan began performing independently as a bilingual artist in Ontario and Quebec and has a great reputation for his Thursday night Facebook live concerts. Yvan is eager to bring a selection of French and English sing along songs and covers to the Ottawa Christmas Market and is excited to announce he will also have a Christmas album available that is currently underway in the studio.
