Indigenous peoples everywhere observe the Winter Solstice. It is the day that the sun is the furthest from the equator. Their spiritual foundation lies in the natural world of connection and Solstice is a time to honor and acknowledge the natural patterns of our universe and existence.
Join us at the Ottawa Christmas Market on December 21 st to share in the traditional music of the indigenous peoples from our region.
All three of Canada’s recognized indigenous groups will be included on the evening. First Nations, Inuit and Metis. There will be drumming, singing, dancing and storytelling.
